Back with a BANG !!!

So as all of you'll know, the season is back with the most unexpected turn of events, starting with the first match of the season, Arsenal definitely need to shape up, probably the "NEW" team needs to get used to each other's play whereas sunderland had adopted the defensive tactic quite well!!

On to Newcastle, they played very fine counter attacking football with the strong strike force they possess and spurs played quite well but just couldnt execute their chances

Chelsea look strong! and are big favourites at this point of time .... Southampton really deserved a point against Manchester City, who i can say just escaped the tunnel of disappointment ....

West Brom, Fulham, Swansea and Everton were very impressive in their first games, but let time be the best judge and test whether they can keep up with the form or will always remain under the bar of the famous clubs ...

Coming down to the disappointment zone, Liverpool and Manchester United lead the race, with United's new and big additions and Liverpool's new manager, expectations were definitely high .... both teams looked weak and need to BUCK UP if liverpool want to get back their lost glory and if United want to retrieve their lost title ...

What say guys?? who according to you'll should be the top 4 this season????

Revenge of 2009

There are a lot of blogs nowadays where people pst about the general premier league '4th' place race , or the relegation race or other brief topics as the case may be , today , I'm gonna post something different . Back when my first blog came out , i promised something to a friend of mine , a dear chelsea fan , Vashishth Shah and I see no better opportunity to fulfill  my promise than the current scenario. Today I'm not gonna talk about some in general race , but I'm just gonna talk about one match in detail which people are eagerly waiting for .......

Chelsea FC vs FC Barcelona
A 0-0 draw in the first leg when these two giants clashed last time, but the second leg was one of the most controversial matches ever witnessed , 4 penalties not awarded to chelsea and a last minute volley from Iniesta saved the day for barcelona , they went on to win the cup that year , a moment of sheer agony for all chelsea fans. There is a saying in football "Luck Evens Out" , this is what the chelsea fans are hoping when they meet barcelona again , they will look for revenge.

Roberto Di Matteo's chelsea side is underestimated because of its current weakness , the old guards falling apart but all the pundits forget that nothing brings people closer than a common objective and a common enemy , chelsea have both these sources this time , Barcelona being the enemy and Vengeance being the only objective

Barcelona will go for their traditional 4-3-3 with a traditional free-form attack with the lights of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and their new addition Fabregas , they say it is unstoppable to stop this attack but chelsea's sponsors say "impossible is nothing" and I , in this case will resort to that.
Chelsea should play their 4-2-3-1 with their regular positioned attack with lampard and mereiless in centre midfield  , mata on the left , sturridge on the right and torres behind drogba who will be the main striker , john terry is doubtful due to a broken rib , if ivanovic marks messi and luis can take on iniesta , cahill being the perfect 'stopper' and ashley cole taking on the extra man in attack chelsea's defense should prevail !
Fernando Torres according to me shall play an important role in the game with his excellent positioning and assisting skills , when Didier Drogba will look to score and avenge the match in which he blared on television
The vengeance  will re-uinte the old guards and will bring back the chelsea side that seemed lost in the middle of nowhere , it won't matter if they aren't  league champions because all that they eye is the crown of europe

It is not an easy task for Di Matteo and his men , but I have never seen chelsea give up and i would still say that Chelsea FC will beat FC Barcelona and also win the UEFA cup this time and will keep up the blue flag, call me crazy but i guess my predictions are always dicy and that my friends increases the fun in football for me.

Playing Mind Games ....

On this blog it will be my duty to talk about every interesting scenario happening in the football world. So why not talk about Patrick Viera and Sir alex ferguson !
Its shocking that as soon as city posed their first comment about sir alex and his side, Rafael benitez commented saying that,"mind games will not help city." Sir alex is one of the most reputed and experienced manger in football , by giving a title of 'desperation' seems like entering the lions den. keeping aside the fact that i am a united fan , it is still wrong if bringing back one of the best midfielders  is called desperation when on the contrary viera and mancini forget that, 2 weeks back on wednesday , city won the match because of a lovely piece of footwork by carlos tevez , who , according to mancini wasn't  gonna play for the club , ever again. If bringing back scholes is desperation  I'm sure that bringing back tevez is no less

The second argument was the worst vier a could come up with , frankly , when claimed that united don't deserve the title because in the match against fulham , a last minute penalty was not given ! I would suggest viera to see the highlights tottenham vs manchester city , in which mario balotelli  was not sent off for stamping scott parker , city went on to win that match

City, will have to play good football to win the league and not mind-games moreover , it seems that they are failing to do so , with two consecutive draws when both were predicted as 'easy pickings' for them. United on the other hand are looking dominant , it will be interesting to watch the reverse fixture on monday against blackburn , it will be a healthy match where both managers are supporting each other in their respective controversies , for me , i would go with a 2-0 victory for united. Roberto mancini's men have to rejuvenate  to get their hopes back or else they will see a trophy less  season.

The premier league situation right now reminds me of the classic 'Hare and the Tortoise Race' with roberto mancini taking a splendid lead a]in the start and convincing the fans that it is their season , but one thing united have learnt with the commence of sir alex is patience . So will the noisy neighbors rise up or will the united fans BEL20VE ?

Title chase takes a major turn for the noisy neighborsrs

We all say a lot of mind games being played by both managers who are fighting to win this times premier league title , they've both had ups and downs together , just like getting knocked out of the UEFA champions league and then the Europa league. The premier league is the only competition where they can win the lost respect. Today , Martin O'Neil's Sunderland played some good football to hold roberto mancini's side for a draw at the etihad stadium , if United win their next game against blackburn rovers who beat them 3-2 at old trafford last time they met this season, they will go 5 points clear of mancini's side which will then ease the pressure of Sir alex and his boys. A great chance for United. Will they make most of this opportunity ? or Will history repeat itself and we might see a weak united side ?
Another major turn took place in the fight for the UCL spot when Arsene wenger's side lost to queens park rangers and have given tottenham hotspurs a chance to take the lead , chelsea have secured 3 points by defeating aston villa and are now 5 points behind arsenal. At the end of this Gameweek (31) we might just a see a lot of changes in the league table and positions , a very very interesting turn of events !

Cut-throat competition

                   CUT-THROAT COMPETITION

Its by far the best premier league season i have seen , cut throat competition for the manchester teams fighting to win where sir alex wants to prove that his experience turned a season which was low in the start for his team and now is aiming for the team's 20th premiere league title , on the other hand roberto mancini looks to prove to the world that his side are a force to be reckoned with and gradually 'manchester city' is coming out of the shadow and looks to become one of the dominant forces in football. Apart from these teams , Arsene Wenger has given the arsenal fans a new reason to have faith in him by winning his last 7 matches in the premier league and he is on the verge of securing a safe spot in the next year's champions league, below arsenal are tottenham hotspurs 5 points clear of the controversial chelsea side who are also equal to Alan Pardew's newcastle who rose above the expectations of the people and are having a great season. Even the bottom half of the BPL is quite interesting this season with wigan and QPR along with wolves are fighting to get out of the relegation zone with bolton and aston villa just above them , there is competition all over the league table and with only 8 games to go the pressure is rising.

so will we it be sir alex and his men to lift the trophy for the 20th time ? or will mancini's men prove to the world they are one of the dominant forces now ? it is a two horse race and i would always bet on the horse with more experience ;)
